Employment Type: Full-time

Shift: Days w/ call

Hours Per Week: 36 hours/week

Hiring range: $ 29.60- $39.59
The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
 

Responsibilities:

• Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.

• Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.

• Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

• Maintains instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.

• Assists surgeons’ provision of hemostasis during surgery.

Complexity of Work:
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED required • Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing.

Certifications / Licensure: 

• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from New York State obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. 
• BLS Provider obtained within three (3) Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
