Employment Type: Full- Time

Shift: Days

Hours Per Week: 40 hrs. week

Hiring range: Starting at $36.67 hourly

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities: 

  • Patient Navigation: Assist in understanding diagnosis, treatment, required testing, medication adherence, and ongoing support.
  • Care Coordination: Communicate with oncologists, nurses and other specialists, outside agencies, tertiary centers, specialty pharmacies and inpatient service lines. Ensure patients understand testing and instructions.
  • Education: Educate patients and families about their treatments and appointments. Assist with compliance with oral chemotherapy, safety, and assistance with funding applications.
  • Clinic Coverage- Assists with rooming patients, IV draws, Peripheral/Port access. Potential for certification opportunities.
  • Oral Chemotherapy Point Person- Assist patients with initiation and compliance of oral chemotherapy.
  • Symptom & Side Effect Management: Proactive monitoring to improve quality of life and avoid unnecessary emergency visits, including symptom management and nutritional support.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
  • Proficient in administering intravenous therapies, Central lines and IV skills, Phlebotomy Skills, Central Line skills

Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing.
Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English.
