Employment Type: Full-Time 

Shift: Days

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week 

Hiring range:  $25.07-$33.53

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorney with the preparation and management of threatened and/or pending litigation cases from inception through resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of insurance claim documentation for threatened and/or pending litigation.   
  • Draft, proofread, and format legal communications and documents, including litigation holds.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately labeled, filed and easily accessible and retained and/or destroyed in accordance with applicable record retention guidelines.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, witness appearances, hearings, mediations, and trial dates, and manage attorneys' calendars.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, external counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progress.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion.
  • Assist with Contract Management software to audit workflows.
  • Acceptance of service of legal documents, including subpoenas, assign to appropriate stakeholders for follow-up and track compliance.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to process litigation document requests as needed.
  • Provide high level administrative support to C-Suite, as needed.
  • Review legal invoices for compliance with litigation billing guidelines and process approved invoices for timely payment.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in litigation.
  • Associate's degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and court procedures
