The Family Counseling Center of Fulton County, Inc. is dedicated to providing high-quality behavioral health services to individuals and families. We are seeking a Senior Peer Services Leader to oversee and guide our peer support services. This leadership role involves leading a team of peer support specialists, ensuring the integration of peer services into the agency’s care model, and enhancing the overall impact of peer support in helping clients achieve their recovery goals.

What you will do:
The Senior Peer Services Leader will provide leadership and supervision to a team of peer support specialists, ensuring the delivery of peer services in alignment with agency policies and best practices. This position requires someone with lived experience in behavioral health challenges, along with a strong understanding of recovery-oriented practices. The Senior Peer Services Leader will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to integrate peer support services into the overall care model and help clients achieve personalized recovery goals.

Qualifications you need:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in peer support or related roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • New York Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS)- Required

Experience:

  • Lived experience meeting the Peer Specialist Certification requirement
  • Experience working with mental health and substance use disorder populations is highly desirable.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of recovery-oriented practices and the role of peer support in behavioral health.
  • Proficiency in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of community resources and service networks, particularly in Fulton County, NY or similar rural areas.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented systems of care.
  • Ability to pass Medicaid exclusion screening and background check.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, cultural competence, and equity in service delivery.

What you will be responsible for:

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Supervise, mentor, and support peer support specialists by providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement peer support programs that align with the agency’s mission and enhance client outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards for peer support services.

Client Support & Advocacy:

  • Provide one-on-one and group peer support, using lived experience to offer empathy, encouragement, and practical assistance.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop personalized recovery plans and help them set and achieve goals.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs within the agency and the broader community, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources and services.

Program Coordination & Integration:

  • Work closely with clinical and administrative staff to integrate peer support services into the agency’s care model.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of peer support services, gathering feedback from clients and staff to inform improvements.

Training & Development:

  • In collaboration with the Training Specialist, develop and deliver training programs for peer support staff focused on skill development, best practices, and personal growth.
  • Promote ongoing professional development for peer support staff through workshops, conferences, and training opportunities.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of peer support activities, client interactions, and program outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit reports on program effectiveness, client progress, and outcomes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
