Senior Intake Specialist
The Family Counseling Center of Fulton County, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Intake Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee the intake process for new clients, conduct comprehensive assessments, make appropriate service referrals, and mentor intake staff. You will collaborate with clinical teams and community partners to ensure seamless client entry into care and support the agency’s mission. Key Responsibilities:
- Client Intake & Assessment: Conduct detailed assessments of new clients, gathering relevant medical, psychological, and social history to determine needs and eligibility for services.
- Service Referrals & Coordination: Provide accurate referrals to internal programs or external services and coordinate care with clinical staff, case managers, and other departments to ensure optimal client support.
- Crisis Management: Respond to crisis situations involving clients, providing immediate support and coordination with emergency services as needed.
- Supervision & Mentorship: Mentor and provide training to intake staff, ensuring compliance with agency standards and enhancing the intake process.
- Collaboration & Community Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with community organizations to facilitate access to services and respond to emerging client needs.
- Administrative Duties: Prepare intake-related reports, track service utilization metrics, and contribute to the improvement of intake policies and procedures.
- Staff Development & Training: Participate in professional growth activities and support the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field
- License: NYS LMSW, LCSW, LMHC
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a behavioral health or social services setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in clinical assessment, case management, and documentation practices.
- Expertise in working with mental health and substance use disorder populations.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery-oriented systems.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage diverse populations with sensitivity and professionalism.
- High organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Office-based position
- Some flexibility required to meet client needs, project deadlines and attend agency events.
- Travel may be required occasionally for community outreach, meetings, and training events.
