Cytotechnologist
JOB PURPOSE: The purpose of this job is to perform, evaluate and instruct according to written protocols & procedures within Cytologic expertise. Interprets and assesses the cellular sample for evidence of disease. Exercises independent judgment in the laboratory. May perform specialized laboratory functions in a separately designated laboratory area.
EDUCATION: Possess four (4) year high school or equivalent education, plus B.A. or B.S. degree in Cytotechnology or equivalent or BS degree with a major in one of the biological sciences and twelve (12) months of training in a school of Cytotechnology approved by the American Medical Association.
PREFERRED: Possess a BS degree in Cytotechnology & ASCP Certification.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Mandatory New York State Department of Health Registration, ASCP Certified or ASCP eligible.
EXPERIENCE: Possess three (3) years’ experience or training in Cytotechnology and Histotechnology.
SALARY: $35.27 – $45.85 / HR
