Broadalbin-Perth Central School District is accepting applications for a full-time Cook for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. This is a 10-month position starting at $18.11 per hour. The successful candidate will assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals while supporting the daily operations of the school cafeteria in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.

About the Position:

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food in accordance with established menus and nutritional guidelines, ensuring food quality and proper portioning, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. Responsibilities may include meal preparation, cooking and baking, operating kitchen equipment, maintaining inventory, assisting with meal service, and supervising kitchen workflow as needed.

This is a full-time, school-year position, with hours scheduled during the school day. Occasional additional hours may be required for special events or programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Prior experience in commercial, institutional, or school food service cooking preferred.

• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting 40 lbs or more, and working in a fast-paced environment.

• Dependability and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
