Patient Care Technician
JOB TITLE: Patient Care Technician | DEPARTMENT: Operating Room (Recovery)
The Patient Care Technician provides basic nursing care to patients, transports patients within the hospital, and monitors a safe and clean environment. The Patient Care Technician provides clerical support, including order entry, as the patient care and patient flow requires.
Work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse in accordance with established hospital standards, nursing department structure and standards, established regulatory and accreditation requirements, and the individual patient’s special physical or age-related needs.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Employee is trained and prepared to care for the age-specific groups, which include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/ REGISTRATION: None at start. Basic Life Support certification within six (6) months of hire.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year experience as a Nurse Assistant or equivalent experience in healthcare setting.
PREFERRED: Previous Medical/Surgical experience.
SHIFT: 40 hours shift is 6:45a – 3:15p RATE OF PAY: $17.53 – $19.66 / HOUR
