Community Swim Program at Johnstown High School
Community Swim Program: Program Starts: Saturday, December 7 Place: Johnstown High School (1 Sir Bill Circle, Johnstown, NY 12095) Days: Saturday Time: 9:00 ? 11:00 A.M. ? Use the back entrance of JHS by the pool/bus loop and sign in with a school attendant ? The program will not run when school is not in session or if campus is closed due to inclement weather ? Swim program will not operate on the following Saturdays: 12/28, 2/15, and 2/22 ? Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Toddlers and younger must wear swimming diapers in the pool. You are allowed to bring in your own swimming aides (swimmies and other devices that are intended to help you stay afloat and swim). Pool floats are prohibited. The 518 Concert Series Presents: Skeeter Creek at The Glove Theatre
The Glove's 518 Concert Series proudly presents Skeeter Creek. Skeeter Creek was nominated for 4 awards at the 2005 Northeast Country Music Association awards: Bluegrass band of the Year, Vocal group of the Year, Instrumental band of the Year, and the Sunrise award. They were the winners of the 2004 Colgate Country Showdown in the Albany, New York region, winners of the 2005 and 2006 Froggy 100.7 Country Shootout, and named at the top of the 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 Metroland Magazine Readers Poll for Country Band of the Year, and 2013, 2014,2015 Cover Band of the Year (all genres). They have also won the North Country Music Awards in 2014-2015 for Entertainers of the Year, Band of the Year, Male Vocalist (Dave Ahl), Female Vocalist (Renee Lussier-Ahl), and Musician of the Year (Dominic Paratore). The Albany Area Amateur Astronomers will be hosting the following star parties in 2025 at Landis Arboretum: Saturday, Mar 29 ? 8:00pm (new moon) Saturday, Apr 26 - 8:30pm (night before new moon) Saturday, May 24 ? 9:00pm (new moon -2) Wednesday, June 25 ? 9:00pm (new moon) Sunday, July 27 ? 9:00pm (new moon +2) Thursday, August 21 ? 7:30pm AAAA Annual Meeting and Stargazing (new moon -1) Sunday, Sept 21? 7:30pm (new moon) Saturday, October 25 ? 7:00pm (waxing crescent moon) Star parties are cancelled if the skies will be mostly cloudy. Come view the stars and planets in Landis' dark skies with members of the Albany Area Amateur Astronomers. A variety of telescopes will be set up for viewing the heavens, revealing nebulae, star clusters, galaxies, double stars, planets, and other celestial objects.
