The Glove Education Series and The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association Present: Iron Jawed Angels at The Glove Theatre
The Glove Education Series and The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Hometown Association Present: Iron Jawed Angels, a little known yet integral piece of American history, based on the life of Alice Paul and Lucy Burns, two young, radical women who were instrumental in securing the right to vote in America.
Alice Paul and the women of the 1917 Women's Suffrage movement fight for future generations right to vote and run for office. Sacrificing their health, marriages and the limited amount of freedom they had, women were imprisoned and force fed after picketing and hunger-striking against war-time president, Woodrow Wilson; but survived to see the results of their efforts.
The program will begin with a historical presentation by Fulton County Historian, Samantha Hall-Saladino, highlighting Fulton County's role in the Women's Suffrage Movement.
There will also be voter registration information available both before and after the event.
