About the Role…
The Senior Planner for Beech-Nut Nutrition Company, reporting to the Senior Planning Manager, will be responsible for delivering a best-in-class customer experience through the strategic management of inventory and efficient flow of materials from suppliers to manufacturing in order to ensure adequate forward coverage and overall inventory levels for assigned packaging materials and/or ingredients.

This includes the movement of raw materials, forecasting our finished goods needs and movement of goods between warehouses. When customers place their orders, our team ensures the items are delivery on time, in full and per the customers specifications – making high quality, safe, and nutritious foods for babies and toddlers!

About the Work Environment…
This position is located at the Amsterdam, New York LEED® certified production facility. Most job functions are performed in a well-lit, environmentally controlled office environment. Position is expected to work in a hybrid model, which currently includes three days in office. The candidate will also be required to work in an environment that requires hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection and lab coat. Restrictions include wearing of jewelry, nail polish and acrylic nails. Other personal protection equipment may be required for certain tasks.
What You’ll Do…
- Analyzes material requirements for packaging, raw materials, and provides forecasts to suppliers.
- Determine item level order quantities and flow to ensure timely and accurate execution of purchase orders. Establish and follow a consistent purchase order management process.
- Develop strong cross-functional partnerships with Master Scheduler, Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Logistics, and Operations, and external vendors to ensure material requirements are met as required.
- Manages movement of materials from suppliers to external warehouses, the Beech-Nut manufacturing facility or to co-manufacturing locations in anticipation of production.
- Coordinates transfers of materials from external warehouses to the Beech-Nut manufacturing facility and co-manufacturers as required to meet the manufacturing schedule and needs.
- Manages raw/packaging material inventories at internal/external storage locations within prescribed Company financial goals while meeting production schedule requirements.
- Proactively collaborates with the sourcing team on any sourcing challenges. Proactively resolves short shelf-life constraints with support from Quality team.
- Understand/ manage safety stock/ inventory targets for various regions/ plants.
- Conducts scenario planning for different Demand and Supply scenarios, understand & articulate the different options and impact.
- Maintains the SAP planning system to ensure all item level planning attributes are properly maintained and troubleshoots/analyzes root cause for system inaccuracy.
- Participates in cross-functional teams, focusing on materials availability. Participates in cost savings projects/opportunities and ad hoc analysis as required.
- Support other planning activities such as Long-Range Planning, Excess & Obsolete reduction, Supply Reviews, etc.
- Troubleshoot and help resolve MRP issues for demand propagation; Participate in key projects, testing and go-live.

What You’ll Need…
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Supply Chain, Operations/Logistics, Math/Statistics, Business) OR Associates Degree in related field and 5 + year’s related experience
- Related experience would be in production planning, materials planning, materials expediting, or planning.
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Office applications required. Emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of reporting tools such as EveryAngles or PowerBI is helpful.
- Previous experience in SAP or other ERP system and continuous improvement.
- CPG experience preferred.
- Leadership, communication and executive presentation skills to share insights/ gain consensus
- Conceptual and practical Lean knowledge preferred.
