DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: The work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of a light motor vehicle such as a station wagon, pick-up truck, or van in transporting passengers, mail, supplies, or equipment. A Motor Vehicle Operator works under the supervision of a higher-ranking departmental employee and carries out the assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. Does related duties as required.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: Applicants must be a legal resident of Montgomery County or a Contiguous County.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience in the operation of a light motor vehicle such as a pick-up, van, station wagon, or automobile.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTANCE OF APPLICATIONS: Possession of a valid appropriate driver’s license by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment.
