About the Role…

The Co-Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for the identification, set-up, and launch of Co-Manufacturing and Co-packing locations - both domestic and international. This role is responsible for developing and negotiating tolling costs, leading make vs buy decision making, implementing effective sourcing strategies, and minimizing obsolescence risk for potential partners to the core Beech-Nut business. This role will also lead the development of insourcing manufacturing to the Beech-Nut manufacturing facility located in Amsterdam, NY by seeking out and cultivating leads, as well as responding to potential inquiries into Beech-Nut manufacturing.  The position will be involved in both contract drafting and management, as well as working internally to ensure contract requirements are aligned with company financials and values. The Co-Manufacturing Manager is also responsible for cost saving measures at Co-manufacturers (3rd party manufacturers), ensuring performance of contract obligations, and quantitative analysis to identify the financial impacts of decisions.

The Co-Manufacturing Team is responsible for ensuring that BNN is working with the best Co-Manufacturers and suppliers throughout the Unites States and abroad to produce and package our nutritious products. The team works diligently to forge longstanding partnerships with Co-Manufacturers that share our passion to create high quality products that are differentiated in the marketplace. Equally important is the Co-Manufacturers desire and ability to grow with us on our journey.  The team works closely with Marketing, Planning, Quality, R&D, Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain Teams to ensure products are arriving on schedule and they meet our strict quality standards so we can continue doing what we do best – making high quality, safe, and nutritious foods for babies and toddlers!

 

About the Work Environment…

This position is located at the Amsterdam, New York LEED® certified production facility. Most job functions are performed in a well-lit, environmentally controlled office environment.  The candidate will also be required to work in an environment that requires a hairnet, beard cover, safety glasses, hearing protection and lab coat. Restrictions include wearing of jewelry, nail polish and acrylic nails. Other personal protection equipment may be required for certain tasks.

What You’ll Do…

  • Assess Co-Manufacturers for their ability to manufacture finished good products within Beech-Nut requirements 
  • Identify and implement an effective co-manufacturing network to meet current and future demand, optimize costs and minimalize obsolescence risk
  • Lead/assist contact for all manufacturing leads for potential insourcing of manufacturing for strategic partnerships
  • Provide day-to-day management of Co-Manufacturers including administration of contractual agreements, supply, manufacturing, logistics, inventory, and service planning
  • Work with cross functional partners to understand the feasibility of insourcing projects from operational and resourcing perspectives
  • Draft and manage contracts ensuring performance of the Co-Manufacturer to contractual obligations; as well as amend and/or renew contracts with business partners
  • Review contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal
  • Monitor adherence to co-manufacturing agreements, create and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as part of supplier scorecard and performance management per a timely basis
  • Monitor agreements throughout the contract life cycle for price increases, product launches, appropriate approvals, expirations, etc.
  • Utilize negotiations to maximize value and cost savings benefit while lowering risk
  • Coordinate new product launches with co-manufacturing sites and cross functional internal partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define Service-Level Agreement’s (SLA) and KPI’s for Co-Manufacturers and measure the appropriate criteria
  • Conduct presentations to internal stakeholders and business reviews with business partners
  • Evaluate and enhance partnership relationships with key Co-Manufacturers for long term benefits and propose opportunities to expand capabilities and/or capacity for volume growth
  • Develop a database of potential Co-Manufacturers and their capabilities to use as part of future product development or alternative supply

What You’ll Need…

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business, Engineering, Operations Management or other related field) required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working with co-manufacturing partners, and
    1. 3-5 years in manufacturing line management/supervisory experience
  • CPG experience preferred. 
  • Highly organized and attention to detail; analytical with strategic thinking skills
  • Capability to clearly communicate goals and objectives
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to the management team
  • Successfully work towards strict deadlines, as well as independently on multiple, simultaneous assignments
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment
  • Project management skills to drive processes and improvements to completion.

Pay: The annual base salary range for this hybrid-remote role is $90,000 - $140,000. This is a salaried-exempt position.
