SENIOR KEYBOARD SPECIALIST
(Successful candidate must comply with civil service testing and regulations.)

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The work involves responsibility for the performance of moderately difficult clerical related tasks requiring the exercise of independent judgment in the application of prescribed procedures, and the full time or substantial part time operation of the computer for the entry in retrieval of information. Duties in this class may involve public contact. Work is reviewed by observation, cross checks, periodic or spot checks, cross checking or other steps in the clerical process. An employee in this class may also supervise the work of others. Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:

Manipulates a keyboard using word processing, spreadsheet, and more database management software to accomplish a variety of tasks;

Keyboards, sorts and files correspondence, forms, notices, form letters, payrolls, bills, vultures, records, catalog cards, reports, index cards, memoranda, rosters and other materials;

Reviews accounts, reports and other documents for completeness, accuracy in conformity with established procedure;

Makes and checks work assignments of a signed subordinate clerical staff;

Receives, indexes, records, and copies and retrieves materials from files;

Orders office supplies and materials;

Make direct clerical operations of an office and supervise clerical staff;

May collect fees and other funds for services and make bank deposits;

May schedule in coordinate agency activities with vendors, customers and the public;

May act as your neighbor department liaison between public and agency program personnel;

Me act as receptionist, directing callers to the proper person or office in give information of routine nature.

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment;

Good knowledge of basic arithmetic functions of the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division;

Good knowledge of the procedures, regulations, and precedents governing the agency’s clerical operation;

Working knowledge of the agency’s programs objectives and goals;

Ability to follow oral and written directions;

The ability to instruct, assigning and review the work of a small number of subordinates;

Ability to prepare a narrative or a tabular material on a program or segment of the program;

Ability to operate an elf of numeric keyboard of such as a typewriter, word processor or personal computer then acceptable rate of speed;

Ability to perform close detail work involving considerable revision to Lafferty and strain;

Ability to articulate ideas and information and effectively;

Ability to deal effectively with people;

Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school he quickly once the diploma and one years of clerical experience which shall have involved keyboarding;

Or

Two years of clerical experience which shall have involved keyboarding;

Or

And the quibble and combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $26,731.00 per year
