2026 Annual Spring Hawk Watch & Hawk Identification Workshop at Landis Arboretum
Location: The Nicholas J. Juried Meeting House at Landis Registration: Members: $5/person, $15/family; non-members: $15/person, $25/family. Join us for this annual nature event at the Arboretum, a day observing hawks in migration over the Schoharie Valley. We will gather at the Meeting House and hope to see bald eagles, sharp-shinned hawks, osprey, and the longest travelers, broad-winged hawks - among other raptors on the move. The Watch begins at 10:00 AM and continues all day until 4:00 PM - drop in when you can and stay as long as you like. A Hawk Identification Workshop will be held at 2:00 PM. Come for a short while or the whole day. Partial funding for this class provided through a grant from Stewart?s Shops Holiday Match Program. Instructor: George Steele, nature educator

We're back and ready to network, explore, and invest in brownfield redevelopment in the Mohawk Valley! The Brownfields Developer Summit brings together developers, economic development agencies, federal, state, and local governments to network, collaborate, and spotlight brownfield redevelopment opportunities throughout the Mohawk Valley. This TWO DAY Event (tickets purchased for either day are good for BOTH days and the mixer) is a great way to network with MORE COUNTIES, explore MORE SITES, and invest in MORE OPPORTUNITIES.

2026 Morning Bird Walk at Landis Arboretum
Location: Meet at the lower Parking Lot Registration: Members: $5/person, $15/family; non-members: $15/person, $25/family Join us from 6:00 - 9:00 am for this always popular Arboretum program. We hope to see or hear over 40 species of birds in the forest, fields, and water areas of Landis. Wear footwear appropriate for muddy conditions. Binoculars will be available. 2026 Woodcock Search and Sneak-up
Location: Meet at the Farmhouse Registration: Members: $5/person, $15/family; non-members: $15/person, $25/family The American Woodcock is a shorebird that has adapted to upland habitats. In the spring males return to open fields to sing and do an aerial flight display to attract females. Join us from 8:00 - 9:30 PM when we will search for and try to sneak up on singing males and learn about this once in the year behavior. ADK Fish & Piscivorous Birds - A Free Education Event at The Glove Theatre
A FREE All-Ages Education Event! @ 1pm - The Fly Shack will lead a fly tying demonstration @ 2pm - Lisa Holst will provide an historical overview of the fish communities of the Adirondacks and will profile some of the lesser known native fish species. She will also share information regarding the ongoing restoration of endangered ADK fish species, how the recovery of certain bird species is affecting fish and fisheries, and how piscivorous (fish eating) birds are affected by environmental contamination. This FREE all-ages event is brought to you through a partnership of The Glove Education Series and Southern Adirondack Audubon Society.
