Dickensian Christmas with Cheryl Bielli, Instructor at Paul Nigra Center
Pick a scene from Charles Dickens' famous A Christmas Carol and learn some pen and ink techniques to make a 19th century-style illustration you can duplicate for homemade holiday cards or gift prints! Scenes should be kept simpler than the illustration pictured to fit the time frame. Suggestions include Scrooge and one of the ghosts, Scrooge and Jacob Marley, Tiny Tim and Bob Cratchett, etc. After drawing the characters in pencil with instructor coaching, students will add ink linework and finish with a few loose watercolor washes to add limited touches of color and create a vignette background. *Members receive a 20% discount. They will use various found objects, such as sponges, dried leaves, utensils and more, to create iconic holiday images with creative textures and shapes. Winter Art Show Meet the Artist Opening Reception at Paul Nigra Center
Our last show of the year, the 2024 Winter Art Show, is on display now! With more than 140 diverse pieces by 56 artists from 9 states, we couldn?t ask for a better exhibition to close out the year. It is on display now until January 23, with a Meet the Artists Opening Reception this Thursday, December 12, 4-7 p.m. The gallery is also open weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Come out of the cold and browse some beautiful art!
