A Night of Magic with John Westford
The Glove Theatre is excited to present John Westford -- Illusionist, Magician, and Actor - dazzling audiences in theaters nationwide, on national television and on cruise ships all over the world! This is a family-friendly - ALL AGES show! John?s resume is as impressive as his mind-bending illusions, but what really sets him apart is his quick wit. His ability to ad-lib and improvise in the moment makes each show one of a kind! What started with ?a magic set and a $5 paycheck for a birthday party? led to a career as an international magician, with some quick-thinking comedy thrown in. Westford began a more conventional career with the Pennsylvania State Senate, but the world of magic and entertainment called to him, leading him to leave his 9-to-5 job behind and star in a variety stage show in Paramount?s Kings Dominion. From there he was offered gigs in New York City and made appearances on national television along with most of the major cruise lines, including appearances with Alabama, The Beach Boys, Joan Rivers, Clint Holmes, and Jerry Lee Lewis. More recently Westford has appeared in dozens of TV shows and major motion pictures, including as a young Dan Aykroyd in Celebrity Ghost Stories and as a secret service agent for the secretary of state, played by Sigourney Weaver. Westford?s comedy and illusion show has taken him to more than 37 countries and nearly every state. All ages welcome! 21+ to purchase adult beverages with a valid ID.

American Cancer Society Relay for Life at Gloversville High School
crowd of cancer survivors smiling and waving to the camera from underneath the purple relay for life archway on a sports track Celebration of Survivors We kick off our Relay event by celebrating our local cancer survivors. We encourage you to invite friends and family currently living with cancer or survivors to attend and join in the celebration. All attendees of the event are asked to line the track during the survivor lap and cheer on our survivors. Pro tip: Bring noise makers, pom-poms, anything you bring to a pep rally to cheer those survivors on! Celebration of Caregivers After the Survivor Lap, caregivers are invited to join the survivors. A caregiver is a friend or family member that helped a person with cancer, regardless of if they are still with us. It may even be a healthcare worker. Attendees are again asked to line the track and cheer for our caregivers! Meaningful Luminaria We will take time to remember those we have lost to cancer and reflect on the journey of those who have survived. At most events, after the sun sets, Relay teams help light pre-made luminaria bags that are dedicated in honor, or in memory, of a loved one. If you would like to make a donation or fundraise with luminaria - you can do so here. Opportunity to Fight Back We come together as a community to fight back against cancer. Invite your family and friends to attend the event and support you and your fellow Relayers' fundraising efforts. Commit to finding ways to fight back against cancer.
