A Night of Magic with John Westford
The Glove Theatre is excited to present John Westford -- Illusionist, Magician, and Actor - dazzling audiences in theaters nationwide, on national television and on cruise ships all over the world! This is a family-friendly - ALL AGES show! John?s resume is as impressive as his mind-bending illusions, but what really sets him apart is his quick wit. His ability to ad-lib and improvise in the moment makes each show one of a kind! What started with ?a magic set and a $5 paycheck for a birthday party? led to a career as an international magician, with some quick-thinking comedy thrown in. Westford began a more conventional career with the Pennsylvania State Senate, but the world of magic and entertainment called to him, leading him to leave his 9-to-5 job behind and star in a variety stage show in Paramount?s Kings Dominion. From there he was offered gigs in New York City and made appearances on national television along with most of the major cruise lines, including appearances with Alabama, The Beach Boys, Joan Rivers, Clint Holmes, and Jerry Lee Lewis. More recently Westford has appeared in dozens of TV shows and major motion pictures, including as a young Dan Aykroyd in Celebrity Ghost Stories and as a secret service agent for the secretary of state, played by Sigourney Weaver. Westford?s comedy and illusion show has taken him to more than 37 countries and nearly every state. All ages welcome! 21+ to purchase adult beverages with a valid ID.

A World Turned Upside Down: Confiscation and Occupation in Johnstown, 1776 at Sir William Johnson Hall
In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, Johnson Hall State Historic Site will commemorate the occupation of Johnstown and the confiscation of Johnson Hall by Revolutionary forces in May 1776. The free, two-day living history event on May 16 and 17, 2026 will feature military and civilian reenactors interpreting the experiences of local colonial European, Mohawk, and enslaved African communities, staged recreations of key events in downtown Johnstown and at Johnson Hall, and a chance to see the interior of the historic home as never seen before? looted and ruined in the aftermath of the raid. Only five months after disarming Johnstown in January 1776, Continental soldiers occupied the community once again in May, seizing Johnson Hall and arresting residents accused of refusing to support the Revolution. Lady Mary Watts Johnson, her young children, and other members of the household were taken to Albany, where they were held hostage to ensure the compliance of the Johnson family. Johnstown would remain a key location in the contest for control of the region, as local residents ? rebel, loyalist, and neutral alike ? found their world turned upside down, facing an uncertain future in the civil war that was to come. On Saturday, May 16, the event will begin in downtown Johnstown at 9:30am at the corner of Main Street and North William Street. Reenactors portraying community members will explain the varied news of approaching Revolutionary soldiers. This will be followed by the arrival and military parade of the 3rd New Jersey Regiment, the arrest of suspected Loyalists, and a recreation of the conference between officers of the regiment and representatives from the Mohawk community of Tiononderoge/Fort Hunter. At 12:30pm, the downtown portrayal will conclude, and the reenactment procession will move to Johnson Hall State Historic Site (139 Hall Ave. Johnstown, NY 12095) where at 1:30pm, the action resumes with a recreation of the Hall?s confiscation, the arrest of Lady Johnson, and the looting of the Hall. After the conclusion of the scripted commemorations, attendees will have the opportunity to talk with reenactors and site staff about the history of the event while touring the ransacked Hall until 5:00pm. On Sunday, May 17, Johnson Hall State Historic Site will be open from 9:00am to 3:00pm for ongoing living history interpretation. Explore the historic house, defensive structures and grounds, witness recreations of the courts-martial that followed the looting of the Hall, and converse with reenactors and staff to learn about the aftermath of the confiscation and raid. This event is part of a series commemorating the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution at New York state parks and historic sites. Against The Grayne: 90s Grunge & Alt Rock at The Glove Theatre
The Glove proudly welcomes back Against the Grayne for a night of 90s grunge, alt rock and beyond. Against the Grayne plays your favorites from the era with a few ?odds? thrown in for fun!! It?s going to be an awesome time! Here?s what Penny Piper/RadioRadiox.com had to say about last year?s show at The Glove: ?Let me just say it: Against The Grayne is the ?90s grunge cover band you didn?t know you needed in your life until you see them live. As a proud Gen Xer who came of age during the golden era of flannel, distortion, and angsty lyrics, their performance at the Glove Theatre on April 4 [2025] transported me straight back to 1993 in the best way possible. These guys don?t just play the music?they embody it. Covering artists like Layne Staley and Chris Cornell is no small feat. You need nerves of steel and actual talent to pull it off, and lead singer Luke Baird has both in spades. His voice has that deep, smooth edge that makes you do a double-take, and he?s got the guts to get up there and own it. It?s not just about hitting the notes?it?s about capturing the raw emotion and energy of an era, and Luke does just that.? ?The setlist was flawless, hitting all the essentials?from Alice In Chains to Sublime?and even throwing in a few surprises. When they busted out Montell Jordan?s ?This Is How We Do It,? the crowd absolutely lost it. Everyone was on their feet, screaming the lyrics and dancing like it was the summer of ?95 again. That moment? Pure magic. But what really sets Against the Grayne apart is who they are. They?re the real deal: warm, kind, hilarious, and totally engaged with the crowd. Their stage presence was as entertaining as their music. Between songs, they had us laughing, sharing stories, and feeling like we were part of the show. It?s rare to see a band that talented also be that down-to-earth?and it?s why I felt compelled to write this.? Against the Grayne headlined an evening at Cohoes Rock the Block summer series in 2023, 2024 and 2025! Dig out the flannels, ripped jeans and combat boots and come have a fun night with us enjoying your favorites from the 90s! This show is sponsored by the Glove?s 518 Concert Series ? support live local 518 music!!!! All ages welcome! 21+ to drink with valid I.D.
