2026 Adirondack Outdoorsman Show at the Johnstown Moose
The show is geared towards the tastes of Hunters, Fishermen and Outdoors Enthusiasts, with exhibits containing items for sale pertaining to: hunting & fishing gear/supplies, guns, archery, trapping, camping, hiking, snow shoeing, guides & charter services, taxidermy, custom ADK clothing designs and antique hunting & fishing gear. ?Featured Guests? will include outdoor survivalist Melanie Sawyer, turkey hunting expert/author Mike Joyner, and VP of Major League Fishing Michael Mulone. Sawyer is an outdoor skills instructor, historical forager, fisherman and hunter. She was a participant of the premier survival show created by the History Channel, ALONE. Sawyer will be on hand at the show teaching about life off the grid and survival & foraging skills. Joyner is a dedicated turkey hunter who?s obsession has led to him publishing four books on the subject; ?Hills of Truxton: Stories and Travels of a Turkey Hunter?, ?Tales from the Turkey Woods: Mornings of My Better Days?, ?Grand Days in the Turkey Woods?, and ?A Walk In the Turkey Woods: Wandering Thoughts and Revalations?. Joyner will be on hand at the show to discuss Turkey hunting strategies and will have copies of all his works for sale/signing. Michael Mulone is a seasoned executive of the fishing and outdoor industry. A native of Gloversville New York, Mulone is currently the Vice President, Sponsorship & Business Development for Major League Fishing. Mulone returns to the area to participate in the show and discuss Major Leagues 2026 events in the Northeast and nationwide. Door prizes of gear and equipment will be given away throughout the weekend. Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $1 for Children (under 16). 2026 Amsterdam Mohawks Hot Stove/Hall of Fame Dinner at Lyon St Bar and Grill
The 17th Annual Amsterdam Mohawks Hot Stove/ Hall of Fame Dinner will take place this year on Saturday, January 10th. It will be at Lyon St Bar and Grill. Price includes appetizers, free autographs, dinner and dessert.
2nd Annual Caroga Winter Carnival 2026 organized by Fulton County Tourism
CAROGA LAKE, NEW YORK – The 3-Day Caroga Winter Carnival is back again for 2026, beginning on Friday, Jan. 30 through Sunday, Feb. 1. The event kicks off Friday evening with a Winter Tournament Series of Events featuring Sleigh Races, a Cornhole Tournament, Closest to the Pin contest and highlighted by a four man/woman teamed Tug-of-War competition, at the new Royal View Pub and Campground, located at 2533 St. Hwy 10 in Caroga with live music by Philip Arcuri, food and beverages. The carnival weekend will consist once again with the vintage snowmobile show, new this year - a lighted snowmobile rave parade on West Caroga lake at dusk followed by a fireworks display presented by the Fulton County Visitors Bureau. The extremely anticipated Outhouse Races will once again fly across West Caroga Lake on Sunday, information will be available at the Caroga Lakeview Store. Plans are shaping up for another kids ice fishing clinic, a pancake breakfast, the chilly chili cook-off, and an endless variety of winter activities. Vrooman’s snow-volleyball tournament, and nightly live music is planned. This is a town-wide event with local businesses, merchants and organizations all participating in their own way. Much more information is to come. As always, Royal Mountain Ski Area offers downhill skiing and snowboarding, while Wheelerville Trails hosts avid downhill fat biking on its famed mountain biking trails. There will be opportunities to snowshoe, X-C ski and ice skate. The Caroga Arts Collective will be shining their festive lights, ice skating, carousel rides and host beverages from Stump City Brewing. The Chilly Chili Contest will be Sunday at Sherman’s – be sure to cast your vote for best chili! Sunday evening, tune in to a Grammy watch party at Nick Stoner Inn &19th Hole to cheer on the nine CLMF Participants up for Grammy’s this year Last year, the Fulton County Visitors Bureau was looking looking to assist with a winter event that would showcase all Fulton County has to offer during the winter months. With so much focused on the county’s endless summer amenities, it is a chance to reinforce Fulton County as a four-season destination.
