Mini Acrylic Self-Portraits at Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts
Make your own beautiful, tiny self-portraits! Learn to create self-portraits on mini-sized canvases! This class will cover specialized techniques for working with painting on a smaller scale and using smaller brushes and details to create tiny but intricate artwork. *Center Members receive a 20% discount. Child's Play Indoor Playground at Gloversville Public Library
Drop-in from 2 PM-3:30 PM! Explore our indoor soft play zone with your children ages 18 months-5 years old! Available every Tuesday. Please note that while this is a drop-in event, we reserve the right to manage attendance as needed for safety.
Johnstown Farmers' Market

AUDITIONS: Little Shop of Horrors at The Colonial Little Theatre
Auditions for ?Little Shop of Horrors? at The Colonial Little Theatre. Monday, July 27th at 6:00 pm and Tuesday, July 28th at 6:00 pm callbacks at 6:00 pm on Thursday the 30th. The Colonial Little Theatre 1 Colonial Court Johnstown, NY Open to ages 16 and up. All ethnicities encouraged to audition. *Please prepare a song of your choice, in the style of the show. *Please bring a backing track with you on your phone. *Sides will be given to read at the audition. *Come prepared to move for the dance portion of the audition. *Please bring a list of any and conflicts with you to the auditions. PERFORMANCE DATES: October 2, 3, 4 and 9, 10. 11 2026. Synopsis & Character Break Down: Seymour Krelborn An insecure, put-upon florist's clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills. Gender: male Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: G4 Vocal range bottom: A2 Audrey Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour's life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Gender: female Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: D5 Vocal range bottom: G#3 Mr. Mushnik The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative. Gender: male Age: 55 to 65 Vocal range top: F4 Vocal range bottom: G2 Orin Scrivello An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey's abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour. Gender: male Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: G4 Vocal range bottom: G2 The Plant (Audrey II) Puppet. An anthropomorphic cross between a Venus flytrap and an avocado, the plant has an appetite for human flesh that is appeased by Seymour. Puppeteer doubles as other sizes of the plant. Voice Of The Plant An actor/vocalist located offstage. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.' A funky Rhythm and Blues voice is best. Seymour Krelborn, a shy and awkward assistant at a failing flower shop on Skid Row, stumbles upon a strange, exotic plant after a mysterious total eclipse of the sun. He names it ?Audrey II? in honor of his kind-hearted co-worker and secret crush, Audrey. To his shock, the plant begins to speak?smooth, sassy, and soulful?and reveals a disturbing appetite for fresh human blood. As Seymour?s small offerings help Audrey II grow to monstrous proportions, his life transforms. The shop thrives, the media takes notice, and romance seems possible. But the price of success is steep: the plant?s demands escalate from drops of blood to full human meals.
