Swim Starters- Water Discovery A Parent/Child (6-36 months) at Fulton County YCMA
Parent & Child Swim (Baby & Me) is a gentle, playful introduction to the water for infants and toddlers alongside a parent or caregiver. This class focuses on water comfort, safety, and connection. Through songs, guided activities, and supported movement, children begin to explore the water while building trust and confidence with the security of their parent right beside them. Parents learn how to safely support their child in the water, introduce basic skills like blowing bubbles and floating, and practice safe entries, exits, and water awareness. This is less about ?learning to swim? and more about creating a positive, joyful relationship with the water from the very beginning. Perfect for children ages ~6 months to 3 years (adjust based on your program).

Keeping a Nature Journal at Landis Arboretum
Location: The Welcome Center Registration: $8/person per session Keeping a nature journal can connect us in insightful, new ways with the natural world. For centuries, writers have composed poems, stories, essays, and journals to celebrate, explore, and analyze nature. As spring turns into summer, we will explore creative exercises and inspiring texts to have fun with words, our thoughts, and experiences in a guided, friendly natural environment. Bring your notebook or journal. All sessions will be in person and/or virtual. You can attend either way. If the weather turns bad, a session may be all virtual; registrants will be informed and receive a Zoom link if that becomes necessary. Classes will meet on May 24 and 31, and June 14 and 28. You may register for and attend any and all classes. Note that this class depends upon receipt of a grant to keep it affordable. If we do not receive the grant we will notify registrants and refund fees. Instructor: Gert Coleman, Creative nonfiction writer and herbalist Location: The Welcome Center
