Landis Perennial Forest 5K at Landis Arboretum
Location: Meet in the Meeting House parking area. Registration: Members and non-members: Priced by age (see website) The Landis Forest 5K is a unique race through the fields and forests of Landis Arboretum. It has become a not-to-be-missed event for many runners in our region. There are awards for the winning runners, of course, but many people come to walk or run - just because! Race begins at 8:00 AM, registration check in begins at 7:00 AM. Online registration only, Please, no dogs on race day! Click here for more race information. Questions? Classic Car Show at Gloversville Senior Center
CLASSIC CAR SHOW (Trucks & Motorcycles too) Saturday August 10th 9-2 in conjunction with the Gloversville Railfest It's going to be a lot of fun and if you'd like to enter please call the Senior Center at 518-725-0923 to register. There is a $10 registration fee. The Senior Center is the best place to have a car show because who better than seniors to know all about classic vehicles LOL We'll have some gift baskets available to take a chance on. Plus we'll have a hot dog truck there as well. Trophies and gift certificates will be awarded to winners and the classes are...... Mayor's Choice, best presentation, best original appearance, favorite modern car or truck or motorcycle post 1960, seniors Choice by the center board members, specialty trophy and last but not least Best in show ! The event will be held in our parking lot and surrounding area. So hopefully you have a vehicle to show and if not we sure hope you'll just come walk around and take a look. It's going to be a nice, fun day to enjoy ??

Stained Glass Workshop: Feathers, Leaves and More, Doug Hallberg, instructor at Paul Nigra Center
Join stained glass artisan Doug Hallberg for this 5-hour intensive mega-workshop on the craft of working with stained glass! Each student will learn about the process of this timeless art form and make two stained glass feathers to take home. This workshop is for students ages 16 and older of any experience level. A lunch break will be provided - you can bring your own lunch or plan to visit one of our local restaurants. Advanced students are welcome to make a 12'' clear glass window hanging with bevels. Instructor Doug Hallberg is a retired NYS public school art educator (1996-2012) with an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2012, he was awarded a New York State Enterprise grant to open Carriage House Art Studio in Oneonta, NY (2012-2018) to provide a variety of community classes, including some geared toward artists with special needs. His areas of expertise include stained glass, ceramics, sculpture and drawing. *Members receive a 20% discount. Outdoor Yoga-Know & Nuture An Adventure in Self Exploration at Landis Aboretum
The Know & Nurture program is a series of 5 yoga workshops. Held once a month over the length of the growing season each is designed to create a framework through which you can experience who you are. Register for each class individually; attend any or all. Classes are on the second Saturday of the month (May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, and September 14), with rain dates on the fourth Saturday of the month.
