Cyanotypes, better known as sun-prints, are a type of print that uses chemicals and sunlight to create silhouetted images. Artists place shaped objects on specially treated paper or fabric and leave them in the sun to develop. After exposure, the image is developed in a bath of cold water to wash off excess chemicals, leaving behind impressions of the chosen objects.
In this class, we will arrange star- and stripe-shaped objects to create abstract flag designs in honor of Independence Day and the nation’s 250th anniversary!
