250th Anniversary of Sir William Johnson's Funeral at Johnson Hall State Historic Site

Join living history interpreters at Johnson Hall State Historic Site for this unique commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the wake and funeral of Sir William Johnson. The program will begin at 10:00 am with a wreath laying at the grave of Sir William in Sir William Johnson Park on Main Street in Johnstown. Returning to Johnson Hall State Historic Site at 11:00 am., visitors may interact with interpreters and see Johnson Hall in state of mourning typical for the time period. Wade Wells will deliver a short presentation of the events that took place during Sir Williams funeral, and Father Thomas Pettigrew will deliver a short sermon at noon as was done on July 13, 1774.
