Stained Glass Workshop with Doug Hallberg, Instructor at Paul Nigra Center
Join stained glass artisan Doug Hallberg for this 5-hour intensive mega-workshop on the craft of working with stained glass! Each student will learn about the process of this timeless art form and make two stained glass feathers to take home. This workshop is for students ages 16 and older of any experience level. A lunch break will be provided - you can bring your own lunch or plan to visit one of our local restaurants. A dvanced students are welcome to make a 12'' clear glass window hanging with bevels. Instructor Doug Hallberg is a retired NYS public school art educator (1996-2012) with an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology. In 2012, he was awarded a New York State Enterprise grant to open Carriage House Art Studio in Oneonta, NY (2012-2018) to provide a variety of community classes, including some geared toward artists with special needs. The Glove Theatre looks forward to welcoming Chrome Horse: The Bob Dylan Tribute to our stage! Drew Gabbert, Texas-based veteran musician, serves up an authentic Dylan experience with a repertoire that spans six decades of material. Gabbert offers up a mysterious ability to embody the many voices of Dylan with accuracy and reverence ? as if singing through a hall of mirrors. Close your eyes and you?ll be thoughtfully carried through the young man in old man?s clothes, drifting past the country croon, and held firmly by the elder statesman. These eras with their ancient muses are captured by Gabbert fluently. It must be said, by deliberately eschewing present day technology and electronics, the musical presentation remains intact and precise. Election Day Spaghetti Supper at First Presbyterian Church
The First Presbyterian Church 37 S. Market St., Johnstown will hold their annual Election Day spaghetti supper on Tuesday November 4th from 4 to 7 p.m. The meal consists of spaghetti, meatballs, tossed salad, Italian bread, homemade dessert and assorted beverages. Take-outs will be available. The cost for adults is $15.00; children 5-12 $6.00 and free for children under the age of five. Tickets are available at the door. The church is handicapped accessible by using the Clinton Street entrance. This fundraising dinner benefits the church community lunch program which provides members of the community with a free hot homemade meal on the first and last Saturday of each month and also supports other church local missions. DEAN RICKARD, a native of British Columbia, settled in New York City after attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. Dean spent years touring the world with musical theater companies. He operates a recording studio in the New York Metropolitan area. DONNA DELUCIA?s dynamic voice has been a part of the Philadelphia area music scene for many years. She has been a member of popular bands covering everything from classic rock to alternative music. She has toured nationally with the rock orchestra band Wizards of Winter. JOHANNA MIELE is a long-time fixture on the New York Metropolitan area music scene, singing and playing bass, keyboards and flute with classic rock bands. Her raspy low range supplies the bottom for the magical vocal blend of Wooden Ships Band. JOHN RUFFI?s fascination with music theory led him to study classical guitar with renowned teachers. This year, band founder and leader Waynard Scheller brings triple the fun ? with Rainbow Full of Sound, Dead Zep, and Dark Side of the Rainbow ? honoring and melding the music of The Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. It?s somewhat boggling to think of Jerry Garcia and Jimmy Page swapping riffs ? the beatific Buddha and the slashing, edgy Page. But as veteran player of Grateful Dead music Waynard Scheller noticed one night, the chords of the Dead anthem ?St. Stephen? merged seamlessly into ?Whole Lotta Love.? The book shop is newly restocked with an expanded selection of titles and authors! 𝟮𝟱𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝗴𝗼, in December of 1775, Johnson Hall would have observed Christmas and St. John?s Day under the dark cloud of the early Revolution. Fearing the violence already visited on many of their friends and family by Revolutionary forces, those gathering at the Hall that Winter in this season of peace did so behind the protection of a wooden palisade and armed guards. It would be the final holiday season that the Johnsons spent at the Hall before it was confiscated in May of 1776, and the family arrested or driven out by the new Revolutionary government. Johnson Hall has recreated an example of these fortifications as part of the site?s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Revolution. In addition to the indoor festivities, this year's holiday event will feature reenactors interpreting the tenants and servants of the household standing guard on the defenses.

Our Prospective Student Nights are an opportunity for students interested in the PTECH program to come check out all we have to offer! Students and their families are invited to learn about our innovative program that offers real-world experiences and focuses on collaborative, hands-on learning in a space where students take the lead role in their learning. And best of all - students earn a 2-year college degree AT NO COST to their families.
