The Mayfield Central School District, located near the Great Sacandaga Lake, approximately 30 minutes northwest of Saratoga in the heart of the foothills of the Adirondacks, is seeking a certified elementary special education teacher for a full-time appointment commencing in the 2026-2027 school year. The district services nearly 900 students in two schools. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and highly effective Special Education Teacher to join our Elementary team. The ideal candidate will be student-focused, collaborative, and passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs in both inclusive and resource settings.
Responsibilities:

Provide specially designed instruction to students with IEPs in accordance with their goals and needs

Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and co-teaching models

Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records

Communicate regularly with families and staff

Participate in IEP meetings, data teams, and professional development

Create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
