Mountain Valley Hospice
A community based, not-for-profit agency founded in 1988, Mountain Valley Hospice makes hospice care available to all appropriate patients and families in Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery and Saratoga Counties regardless of race, creed, gender, sexual orientation or ability to pay.
Hospice is specialized healthcare focusing on pain and symptom management of life-limiting illnesses. At Mountain Valley Hospice, what matters most to the patient becomes the center of a care plan tailored to that patient’s individual goals and priorities. Unique to the Hospice service, Mountain Valley Hospice utilizes an interdisciplinary team of professionals and volunteers to provide care that is palliative, holistic and supportive. In a collaborative effort with the individual’s attending physician, hospice care encompasses the needs of both patients and those supporting them.
Mountain Valley Hospice provides care in a patient's home, in a healthcare facility (hospital, nursing home, assisted living facility, group/adult home) or in our 8-bed, Adirondack-style hospice residence, the Nancy Dowd Hospice Home on our campus in Gloversville, NY.
The sooner we get involved, the more benefit we can provide to patients and their loved ones. From emotional support to advanced care planning to symptom management, it’s an honor for Mountain Valley Hospice to join the journey at whatever point patients and their families are comfortable letting us in.
