Our Couch to 5k is a beginner-friendly running program that aims to get people from being non-runners to completing their first 5k race in just 8 weeks. It combines walking and running intervals and is designed to make running more accessible for beginners. Our Couch to 5k will be held every Friday at 7:30am.
The show features gorgeous, multilayered paintings from Higgins and wonderful, whimsical works from Thomas, and will run from May 14 to June 20 at the Glove Cities Gallery.

Meet The Band Jay Gold - Bass/Vocals: Began playing guitar at the age of nine and bass guitar by age 14. He learned to play the trombone, keyboards, and sing lead and harmony vocals before recording my first studio demo at age 15. He?s had the honor of playing with thousands of extremely talented musicians over my career from local bars to Broadway and classical orchestra. The moments that have give him joy are when he plays Rush songs on stage with his two teenage sons in their family band, The Goldman Boys. Wid DeSantis - Keyboards: Wid is a pianist and keyboardist currently living and working in Albany. He has an extensive musical theater background having played for over 80 shows in the S.F. Bay Area and the Capital District. He has also played in bands in Boston and San Francisco and is currently an active piano accompanist in the area. Tom Monkell - Guitar: A guitarist and composer based in Albany, NY, known for his ability to perform across a variety of genres and settings. He has had the privilege of working as a substitute guitarist for many hit Broadway musicals, including Wicked, The Book of Mormon, Chicago, Matilda, and Dear Evan Hansen. He has toured across the U.S. and Canada, as well as internationally with various companies including the national tour of Come From Away, The Big Apple Circus, and Broadway Rox. He has also enjoyed opportunities to perform with orchestras including the Albany Symphony, Glens Falls Symphony and Sage City Symphony. William ?Billy? Spillane - Vocals: William ?Billy? Spillane has worked as an actor, singer, dancer and musician on local, regional and European stages, as well as in commercial radio, television and film. Derrick Whaley - Drums: Drumming since junior high school while listening to a wide range of music including: jazz, rock, R&B, funk, and progressive rock. In addition to playing acoustic and electronic drums. He has played various percussion and provide lead and backup vocals. Some of Derrick?s musical influences are Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang, Gavin Harrison, Neil Peart, Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, and Steve Gadd. He became a studio engineer producing, and recording, and writing music using Protools. He?s had the pleasure of playing the NFL referees New Year's Eve party, Turning Stone Casino, as well as several festivals and county fairs. In this stage, children learn foundational skills such as blowing bubbles, submerging their face, floating with support, and safely entering and exiting the pool. They are gently introduced to movement in the water through guided activities that build trust, body awareness, and basic safety skills. This level is perfect for beginners or swimmers who are still becoming comfortable putting their face in the water and moving independently.
