The Glove Theatre is proud to present Back to the Garden (BTTG) 1969 - The Woodstock Experience! The Woodstock Music Festival was the ultimate rock concert, a celebration of peace, love and music. More than fifty years later, BTTG brings you back to the music and that weekend. Formed by Gary Adamson in 2009, this is a group of versatile musicians and singers who have come together to celebrate the music, and the spirit of the Woodstock Era. BTTG 1969 recreates the classic sounds associated with Woodstock. The musical performances are a tribute to the artists who made Woodstock great, including Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Jimi Hendrix, Sly &The Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Joe Cocker, Janis Joplin, The Band, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Canned Heat, Ten Years After, The Who, Mountain, Richie Havens, Melanie, Arlo Guthrie, Blood, Sweat & Tears, The Grateful Dead, Country Joe & The Fish,?and more! BTTG 1969 brings you a full multimedia theatrical event, recreating the Woodstock Experience through period costuming, lighting, video, and sound bites. Storytelling also enhances the mood, with tales of the festival, the legendary artists who performed, and the backdrop of the tumultuous decade of the 60?s. Not your typical tribute band! Most tribute bands perform the music of only one artist. BTTG 1969 is a tribute to a very special moment in time, and to the many artists whose music will forever be known as ?Classic Rock.? From nostalgic Baby Boomers to intrigued Gen Z'ers, and all those in between, there is something in this show for EVERYONE! So, grab your tie dye and love beads...and celebrate Woodstock with us at The Glove! 21+ to drink with valid ID

The Glove Education Series continues with a FREE screening of the documentary The Rise & Fall of the Borscht Belt. The Borscht Belt is the name for a section of the Catskill Mountains in Sullivan and Ulster Counties. Starting in the 1920s, it became a summer retreat and sanctuary for millions of Jews escaping from accepted American anti-Semitism. From the 1950s through the 1980s, this sprawling region of bed and breakfast farmhouses, bungalow colonies, and resort hotels numbered in the several hundreds and drew people from all over the Eastern Seaboard. The Borscht Belt was famed for its social scene, epic food spreads, and its entertainment. The Borscht Belt was the launching pad for iconic stand-up comics such as Rodney Dangerfield, Joan Rivers, Alan King, Billy Crystal, and Jerry Seinfeld. Following the screening, we will have a Q&A moderated by Glove Theatre Board Member Aaron Enfield. He will discuss the history of the Borscht Belt with Jay Blotcher of the Borscht Belt Museum in Ellenville, New York. Runtime: 1h 21m This film has been ?Approved? by the MPAA.

The Musicians of Ma'alwyck ? Concert Intime: Exploring the Legacy of the Zoellner Quartet Musicians of Ma?alwyck brings history to life with an unforgettable musical journey, reviving the legacy of the trailblazing Zoellner String Quartet. Take a step back in time to experience the music, stories, and adventures of this remarkable early 20th-century ensemble ? a trip to the music of the time when The Glove Theatre first opened in 1914! The quartet, composed of the Zoellner family members, toured actively throughout North America, presenting concerts in venues from New York?s Aeolian Hall and great performing stages of Chicago, Boston, New Orleans, and Los Angeles, to train depots and outdoor concerts. With Antoinette Zoellner as first violin?a rarity at the time?the quartet became a symbol of the women?s suffrage movement. The quartet democratized classical music. Instead of limiting themselves to the exclusivity of concert halls, they performed in train stations, granges, and outdoor spaces. With Antoinette Zoellner as the quartet?s first violinist - a rarity at that time - was a groundbreaking figure. The quartet became a symbol of the women?s suffrage movement and gained recognition extending beyond music - they became cultural ambassadors, performing for figures like suffragist Avery Coonley Ward and disability rights advocate Helen Keller. Keller, who could feel their music through vibration, so enjoyed it that she invited them to spend two summers with her at her summer residence in Wrentham in 1915 and 16. Through Helen Keller, the quartet met Lydia Avery Coonley Ward, an important suffragist and philanthropist, who split her time between her home in Chicago and her summer retreat in Wyoming, New York. In 1917, she invited the quartet to be in residence in Wyoming. The quartet spent more than two months there, performing for the summer school, giving weekly concerts in the Village Hall, and playing together on the grounds of her estate Hillside. The Musicians of Ma?alwyck will recreate the musical programming of the Zoellners, which contained a substantial repertory of American composers of the time, as well as American premieres of new works by European composers. Stepping in for the Zoellners will be Ann-Marie Barker Schwartz, violinist, and Founder & Artistic Director of Musicians of Ma?alwyck, MofM core member André Laurent O?Neil, cello; and guest artists Fritz Krakowski, violin; and Katrina Smith, viola. Join Musicians of Ma?alwyck for Concert Intime and step back in time with the Zoellner String Quartet! All ages welcome! Age 21+ to drink adult beverages. Musicians of Ma'alwyck's and The Glove Theatre's programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. Additional support for Musicians of Ma'alwyck is provided by the W.G. Broughton Foundation and Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region.

They sold out the house last year and people are still talking about that show! This year they are coming back with an even bigger light show (and last year?s was AMAZING!!!) From Dark Side of The Moon on, Floyd began using films, more lighting, and effects to conjure the mood and emotion of the music they were writing and performing. Floydian Trip combines the best of the early Floyd years and later years to make each show a visually pleasing experience. Whether through projections, lasers, lights, or other effects, Floydian Trip creates a spectacular experience Sound. Floydian Trip aims to recreate some of the spectacular and moving live performances that Pink Floyd became known for in the 1970s and 1980s. This era is sometimes known as the ?Roger Waters Years.? Floydian Trip recreates the sound in both the performance and tone of how Floyd would have been heard if you were seeing them live on stage during the Dark Side of the Moon Tour, Wish You Were Here Tour, In the Flesh (Pink Floyd) Tour, or The Wall Tour. Floydian Trip painstakingly recreates the classic Pink Floyd live experience. The band has poured over thousands of hours of official, unofficial, and bootleg audio and video of Pink Floyd between 1973 and 1981 in order to create the most authentic live Pink Floyd experience you can witness.
