SUMMARY:City of Amsterdam New Chuctanuda Trail Park Ribbon Cutting
DESCRIPTION:CITY OF AMSTERDAM\, NEW YORK\n\nTourism\, Marketing & Recreation Department Director\, Michele Pawlik\, Assistant Recreation Director\n\nOctober 25\, 2024\n\nCity of Amsterdam New Chuctanunda Trail Park\n\nAmsterdam\, NY: The City of Amsterdam is pleased to announce we will be holding a press conference about the new Chuctanunda Trail Park behind the Amsterdam Free Library.\n\n \n\nCity of Amsterdam Mayor Mike Cinquanti said\, "After four years of navigating frustrating obstacles\, we are finally ready to cut the ribbon on the new Chuctanunda Trail Park (CTP) located on Chuctanunda Street at the rear of the Amsterdam Library and US Post Office. This is the first significant DRI project completed in our city and true to the mission of that rejuvenation initiative\, it does provide the residents of our city with a compelling reason to come and spend quality time in downtown Amsterdam again. It is a gem of a place to observe the beauty of the historic Chuctanunda Creek that roars beside it. It is a perfect and picturesque picnic venue for parents who want to cap off or begin a visit with their kids to the Amsterdam library. As more new downtown eateries open\, we're hoping the Creekside tables and benches located there fill up at lunchtime and the string-lighted promenade and new performance stage will make the park an attractive venue for Friday night performances by local artists."\n\nWhen: Tuesday\, October 29th\, 2024\n\n1:30 p.m.\n\nWhere: Chuctanuda St\, Amsterdam\, NY 12010\n\nWho: Mayor Michael Cinquanti\n\nAssemblyman Angelo Santabarbara\n\nCommon Council\n\nFor further information please contact Michele Pawlik at mpawlik@amsterdamny.gov.
